Being a Clinical Mentor can be a rewarding experience for both the mentor and student. The opportunity to teach and to serve as a trusted guide to a new Sonographer is a unique opportunity to give back to the profession that gives so much to others. The role of a Clinical Mentor is to assist the Student in becoming a professional Sonographer. This means helping them acquire knowledge, scanning skills, patient care skills and professional behaviors. The best way to describe your role is that you "share yourself" with your student; Share what you know, Share what you do, Share your enthusiasm for the profession.
The Mind Body Spirit Mentor Rewards Program

In recognition of the important contribution each Clinical Mentor makes in the educational experience of a student, we created the unique "Mind, Body, Spirit Mentor Rewards program" The program was designed to contribute back to the clinical mentor for their efforts by providing instant and ongoing reward opportunities in areas a mentor nurtures within each student; the Mind, Body, and Spirit.
Instant Rewards
A Sonographer earns Instant Rewards for mentoring his or her first student. There are several Instant Reward options valuing up to $150.

On-going Rewards
As a Sonographer continues to mentor clinical students, he or she accumulates On-going Reward Credits on a term-by-term basis per student. Reward Credits can be redeemed for items that match the appropriate reward credit category. A few examples of the wide variety of merchandise that can be purchased using rewards credits include a Sony Digital Reader and relaxing spa packages
Personal Satisfaction
Beyond the Reward Credits, Clinical Mentors have a special opportunity to experience the unique personal satisfaction that comes from sharing their knowledge and know-how mentoring students in an actual clinic environment.
Supporting Our Mentors-CMEs and
Cross Training
We support our mentors through access to further education. All active Clinical Mentors are eligible to take any online CME courses offered by American Institutes at no charge. Additionally, any active mentor who wishes to cross train is eligible for a 50% tuition discount.
